NCI’s ARE Service Fully Operational – Briefing:  20-Jun
The Australian Research Environment (ARE) is a web-based graphical interface for performing your computational research on NCI’s Gadi supercomputer and data collections.  With ARE now supporting external internet access, NCI will be closing down the Open On Demand (OOD) service at the end of June.

Find out more about the OOD to ARE migration in this Zoom session (11:00 AEST 20-Jun):  https://anu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMtcu2hqjIvGt36FHpIrbVwvQROeYMobF8a#/registration.
Showcase:  AI and ML in Cancer Research:  22-Jun
In the 3rd NCI-Intersect showcase AI and ML in Cancer Research, four internationally renowned speakers will showcase state-of-the-art research activity aimed at enhancing cancer research by integrating AI and ML techniques.  They reveal how large, high-quality datasets coupled with ML and analysis algorithms can play a vital role in the process of cancer research.  This is essential material for scientists (HDR students, ECRs, and beyond) in the field of AI / ML in tissue imaging, cancer diagnosis, drug design, and treatment – and more broadly in biomedical applications.

Date & Time:  Friday 23rd June 2023, 10am – 2pm (AEST)

OpenCL Workshop:  June 21, 22, 28-29.
Supercomputers make use of accelerators from a variety of different hardware vendors, using devices such as multi-core CPU’s, GPU’s and even FPGA’s.  OpenCL is a way for your HPC application to make effective use of heterogeneous computing devices, and to avoid code refactoring for new HPC infrastructure.

Join Pawsey experts as we conduct a four-day workshop to explore, debug, and optimise OpenCL applications.

Note this course is spread over two weeks:

    Part 1 (two days):  21-22 June 2023
    Part 2 (two days):  28-29 June 2023

ARDC Survey on Cloud Service Usage in Research:  by 23-Jun
Researchers:  do you use cloud services like Nectar, AWS, OneDrive, GCP, Azure and Oracle Cloud?  Take the ARDC survey on cloud services usage in research!

It's for all Australian researchers and research support staff, regardless of your use of cloud services.  Your input will help guide enhancements to the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud and national strategy on supporting cloud services for research.  The survey closes on 23 June 2023.
