Sunday, 7-Apr-2013:

Off to Hobart (via Melbourne) for the THETA Conference and a few days' holiday in the Huon region.

Monday, 8-Apr-2013:
Great view from our hotel overlooking Hobart harbour.

then up brights an early to see the sunrise and attend the THETA Conference.

Wednesday, 10-Apr-2013:
After the Conference, time for a stroll around admiring the heritage architecture:

Thursday, 11-Apr-2013:
The next day, we set off to explore a bit of Hobart, and then South to the Huon Valley area.
But first, MONA beckoned: here we have the White Library, the Cloaca Professional (poo-machine), the Fat Red Car, the Wire-frame Cement Truck, Some Wall Hangings, the MONA Rover, and the view over the Derwent.

Driving South, we checked in to our B&B in Huonville, then drove on to Cygnet on Cygnet Bay adjacent to the Huon River estuary:

Friday, 12-Apr-2013:
We spent most of the day in the forested area South of Huonville, including Tahune forest walks (with a wallaby), cantilevered treetop walk, 2 swinging bridges over the Huon River, and the Arve valley, where we encountered huge Mountain Ash trees (in particular, one known as "Big Tree"!) and unique Huon Pine (not actually pine trees).

Then we travelled further South, to Southport, virtually the "end of the world"...

Saturday, 13-Apr-2013:
Today we drive back up to Hobart via several lovely places, crossed the Tasman Bridge and visited Richmond (its famous heritage bridge and buildings, plus a clever wooden maze), before spending the night at an aiport hotel, prior to flying to Adelaide via Melbourne (our Adelaide stay with family may be the subject of a separate Blog!).
