Tuesday, 10-Dec-24:

We flew to Sydney Monday evening and checked into our hotel (near Town Hall) for 2 nights, prior to the cruise.

What better thing to do if you have 1.5 days to kill in Sydney than to take the ferry to somewhere, and enjoy the sights on Sydney harbour!
We first took a ferry to Manly, and even had to pull over to "give way to sail", namely LawConnect, the winner of the 2023 Sydney-Hobart ocean yacht race (whoch also won the 2024 edition, starting Boxing day).

Then we went ashore and wandered to Manly beach, had an ice cream, marvelled at the amount of flesh on display (vestiges of Schoolies Week, I think!), then took the ferry back to Circular Quay and a tram to near our hotel.

Wednesday, 11-Dec-24:

We had the morning to fill in so went to the Sydney branch of the Australian Museum (it was walking distance away).
Here we saw many interesting displays, starting with 100 Treasures Room.
Then Wild Planet (diversity & extinction).
Then First Nations gallery (Garrigarrang).
The brief visit to level 4 Restaurant to see view over city & to Harbour.
Then Burra briefly (children & eels).
Then Birds of Australia.
Then Dinosaurs.
Then Minerals. (running out of puff by now!).
Heer are numbats and thylacenes (Tasmanian Tigers), together with an "autopsy" of a T-Rex
