Festival of Country Gardens #1: Here we are, down in Bridgetown, staying at Big4 Holiday Park just above the Blackwood River, on the outskirts of town.
Our first garden visit was on the afternoon of our arrival (30-Oct) to Robin's Nest (the weather was fine, and not so promising for tomorrow).

Friday, 31-Oct-25:

Festival of Country Gardens #2. Our second garden (first for the day) was "Salvation Jane". Not nearly as prolific in its flowers/plants as some, and focused rather more on metal garden furniture and bric-a-brac. But a lovely setting above the Blackwood river valley.

Festival of Country Gardens #3. The second garden in Bridgetown that we visited on Friday, called Melrose, was quite small, being actually a villa in a retirement village, but crammed with colour and interest, with little discoveries to be found everywhere; given it's only 3 years old, it was quite stunning. Lots of roses (almost all perfumed!), and also perfumed sweet pea.

Festival of Country Gardens #4. Our third garden to visit on Friday was "Totem Bohemia". I'm not sure of the significance of the name, but it was a "rescued" house and garden, long neglected. The current owners bought it 3 years ago, spent the first year making the house habitable, then the next 2 on the garden. The wife actually specialises in embroidery and dressmaking (has exhibited in Perth), and that was lovely to see, but the garden was great considering how little time it has had.

Festival of Country Gardens #5. Continuing our enjoyment of these gardens, we really loved one on a farm on the outskirts of Manjimup, called "Memories", which we visited en route to Albany. Here are some views (weather was foul driving there, but plenty of sunshine when we got there!).

And so we drove on to Albany (q.v.)
