Saturday, 1-Nov-25:
We arrived in Albany on Friday (in the evening) and stayed with Erica in her rental house.
Whilst down in Albany over the weekend, we drove out to the Valley of the Giants (giant Tingle and Karri trees). Not the popular, commercialised bit with the treetop walk (which we have done in the past), but the free "Treetop Loop" near Nornalup that includes a great lookout over Walpole, and the Circular Pool in the Frankland River, and (most impressively) The Giant Tingle (along with The Large Tingle, and many other impressive trees).
Whilst in the forest country near Walpole/Nornalup, we saw quite a few wildflowers still flourishing...
Sunday, 2-Nov-25:
Our last outing, whilst visiting Erica in Albany, was to several walking tracks around the Albany Wind Farm (incorporating part of the Bibbulmun Track). Lovely views over the ocean, as well as plenty of wildflowers still blooming. And not nearly as strenuous as (say) the Bald Head Walk Trail or the Mt Clarence Park Run that the Hacklings did! (unless you walked down to the beach and back up again, as Erica did!).
And so we returned on Sunday afternoon to Perth.
